Kalyko Ltd was incorporated in May 2010 and became the new name of Bonds Model & Promotion Agency Ltd and Bonds Model & Promotion Agency (Shropshire) LLP which was originally incorporated in January 2002.
Since 2002, Bonds Models successfully established itself as a credible and experienced promotional, modelling and event management company and has supported a wide range of Marketing Campaigns and Events for our clients, great and small, across the UK and Ireland.
Kalyko is the company and brand name that will build upon the credibility and reputation of Bonds Model & Promotion Agency to take the business forward and with our continually expanding online Model Directory, we are able to provide the complete resource and service that you need to support your promotional activities, events or modelling requirements.
As we conduct our business we will keep in mind 3 guiding principles:

- Have the Kalyko brand name and logo (called the ‘Kalyko Eye’) recognised throughout the promotions, modelling and event management industry as being fresh, innovative and professional synonymous with excellence for quality, cost and delivery.

Our mission is to:
- Become a reputable market leader within the promotions, modelling and event management industry and achieve our vision within 3 years of our launch (by September 2013)
- To provide a fresh, innovative and professional service for our customers so that we become their preferred supplier
- To provide a fresh, innovative and professional service for our models so that we become recognised within the industry as one of ‘the’ places to be registered and associated with.

The Kalyko Brand
I kept in mind our principles of being ‘fresh, innovative and professional’ and the nature of the business that we are in and I wanted something that would differentiate us from our competitors.
The key word that came to mind was ‘beautiful’ as it is an industry of beautiful people but really, as the saying goes, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.
The word kaleidoscope came to mind which derives from the Greek kalos meaning ‘beautiful’ and eidos meaning ‘form’ and therefore this is where the first part of the name Kalyko is derived. The last part of the name ‘ko’ is a variation to ‘co’ which is often used as an abbreviation of ‘company’ as in a commercial business which Kalyko is of course but it is also used here in the sense of ‘being with other people’ or a ‘gathering of people’ in other words it also refers to the ‘company’ we keep so what we have is ‘beautiful company’, a beautiful company from a commercial sense and beautiful company from the perspective of the company we keep. The logo, called The Kalyko Eye, keeps in mind the saying that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beho
lder’ and the design of the eye is along the line of a ‘kaleidoscope’ creating a ‘beautiful form’ (kalos + eidos) within the eye therefore we get our abstract image depicting the saying, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. The colours used reflect the warmth and integrity of our business.
